Atheist Day 2026: Not just a celebration. A demand for freedom.
23 March

Atheist Day on March 23 is not just an annual celebration. It’s a demand for freedom.
Celebrate openly. Stand in solidarity. Join us this March 23 for Atheist Day, a global moment to defend the right to disbelieve in god(s).
Atheist Day, created by an international coalition of Ex-Muslims and atheist allies, is more than a celebration. It’s an act of resistance. Across the world, atheists and ex-Muslims continue to face persecution, imprisonment, and violence simply for questioning religion. From anti-apostasy laws to enforced silence, disbelief is still treated as a threat rather than a human right.
This event brings together a global community to:
- Affirm the freedom of belief and non-belief
- Raise awareness of ongoing persecution
- Stand in solidarity with those who cannot speak freely
- Call for the release of imprisoned atheists and activists, including Sherif Gaber (#FreeSherif)
Whether you’re openly atheist, questioning, or an ally—this day is for you!
